Honda Prelude Orders Exceed 150-Unit Quota at 287 Units
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has started delivering the first 20 Honda Prelude units to consumers in Indonesia. The hybrid sports car handover occurred at a ceremonial event held at the Vault Automotive Museum in South Jakarta on Saturday, 23 May 2026. This delivery marks the beginning of distributing the latest-generation Honda Prelude in the domestic market.
Yusak Billy, HPM’s Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director, stated that current Honda Prelude orders have reached 287 units. “We currently have 287 orders,” Billy said in Jakarta last weekend.
Billy explained that high consumer demand prompted the company to repeatedly request additional allocations from Honda Motor Japan. “Our initial quota for this year was 40 units, but as they sold out immediately, we requested an additional 100, which was granted. As orders continued to rise beyond 200 units, we asked for another 50 units,” he said.
“This year’s allocated quota for Indonesia is 150 units, which we plan to complete by October 2026,” Billy added. “While the total orders stand at 287 units this year, only 150 will be fulfilled in 2026; the remaining 137 units will be delivered next year.”
The Honda Prelude features an e:HEV hybrid system combining a 2.0-litre petrol engine with an electric motor. It also boasts a sporty two-door coupe design, a hallmark of the Prelude since its early generations.
High order numbers indicate growing consumer interest in premium electrified sports cars in the Indonesian market.
