JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has confirmed that the electric vehicle registered in the Jakarta DKI’s Nilai Jual Kendaraan Bermotor (NJKB) is a model that has previously undergone road tests in Indonesia. This statement narrows speculation that the model is the Honda Super One, which had previously been captured on camera during road tests toward the end of 2025. However, the company has not yet confirmed the official name of the vehicle in question.

Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director HPM Yusak Billy said this at the Honda Media Award 2026 & Iftar Gathering at HPM Headquarters in Jakarta, on Tuesday, 3 March 2026. “But what is listed with Samsat (NJKB) is indeed the same car that was tested in Indonesia some time ago,” he said.

According to Billy, listing the model on the NJKB is an administrative step before a vehicle is officially marketed. “The appearance of the NJKB is indeed part of an administrative process that shows a concrete plan for a model. Nevertheless, NJKB registration cannot yet be linked to confirmation of production or the launch timing,” he said.

For information, the 2026 NJKB document lists the code JG6 A EV ZZE with a selling value of Rp 257 million. The ‘EV’ code indicates a battery-powered vehicle, but the figure is not the official consumer selling price.

On the other hand, Honda has also confirmed adding electrification to its Indonesian market this year. “We will add two hybrid models and one BEV model in 2026,” Billy said.

Earlier, a camouflaged Honda electric vehicle was caught on camera undergoing road tests in Indonesia and went viral on social media. From its silhouette and dimensions, the unit is suspected to be the Honda Super One, which was showcased as a prototype at the Japan Mobility Show 2025.

In response to the circulating spy shots, HPM President and Director Shugo Watanabe stressed that the testing in Indonesia was not undertaken without direction. “If we did not have a concrete plan, we certainly would not be conducting testing in Indonesia,” Watanabe said.

For now, what is certain is that the electric vehicle listed on the NJKB has undergone local road testing and is part of Honda’s electrification plan. The certainty of the name and launch timing awaits official company announcements.
