Homes, Pharmacy, and Shops Damaged Due to Clashes Between Residents of Two Villages in East Flores
As many as 12 buildings were damaged and burned due to clashes between residents of Narasaosina Village and Waiburak Village in Adonara Timur Subdistrict, East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), from Saturday night (9/5/2026) to Sunday (10/5/2026).
“12 buildings were severely damaged due to the inter-village conflict. 10 house buildings, 1 pharmacy building, one shop,” said the Head of Public Relations Section (Kasi Humas) of the East Flores Police Resort, AKP Eliezer A, when confirmed by detikBali.
Eliezer said that a combined force of 157 TNI-Polri personnel was deployed for security. The TNI personnel deployed came from the Rayon Military Command (Koramil) 1624-02 Adonara.
Meanwhile, the police deployed consisted of personnel from the East Flores Police Resort, under the command control (BKO) of the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) of the Ende Police Resort, BKO Brimob of the Kupang City Police Resort, BKO Bomb Disposal Squad (Jibom) Brimob of the Sikka Police Resort, as well as personnel from the sub-sector police stations.
The East Flores Police Chief, AKBP Adhitya Octorio Putra, said that the presence of the combined personnel in the field is a form of the state’s commitment to providing a sense of security to all communities.
“We urge all communities to remain calm, not to be easily influenced by issues or unverified information, and to restrain from actions that could worsen the situation,” Aditya requested.
“Entrust the handling process to the security apparatus, because safety, security, and community peace are our top priorities,” Aditya added.
Aditya also invited all customary leaders, religious figures, youth, women, and all community elements to continue being a cooling and strengthening force for brotherhood amid the developing situation. According to him, the spirit of togetherness, kinship, and the culture of deliberation that has long lived on the land of Adonara.
Aditya also hopes that every problem can be resolved peacefully and with dignity. “Continue to maintain unity for the creation of sustainable public order stability in the East Flores Regency area,” he said.
