Homes in Paseban, Central Jakarta, Destroyed by Fire
A fire that struck a residential area on Jalan Kramat Sawah 10, Paseban, Senen, Central Jakarta, has been extinguished. Several homes were completely destroyed by the blaze.
Observations at RT 008/002, Paseban, Senen, Central Jakarta, on Friday (21/8/2026) at 10.30 WIB showed debris from the burnt homes scattered across the street. The fire left only the walls of several houses standing.
Roofs and belongings inside the homes were completely gutted. Police tape has been put up around the site.
A number of officers were seen repairing cables at the scene. Some residents were also clearing away debris left by the fire.
The fire broke out on Thursday (20/8) at around 20.00 WIB. Firefighting operations concluded at 22.49 WIB.
The Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service said 32 fire engines were deployed to tackle the blaze last night. There were no fatalities or injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Meanwhile, 120 residents affected by the fire have been forced to seek temporary shelter.
