Home Renovation for Hari Bhayangkara: Deputy Police Chief Hands Over New House to Elderly Man
An elderly man named Usin was one of the beneficiaries of the Home Renovation Program held in conjunction with the 80th Hari Bhayangkara (Indonesian Police Day). The resident of Kampung Sentul, Gunung Putri, Bogor, West Java, was momentarily stunned when he saw his ‘new’ house after the renovation.
Local community leader Slamet expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian National Police (Polri) for their attention to the residents. “Alhamdulillah, thank you very much to the Deputy Chief of Police (Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo) and all from Polri who have helped Mr. Usin. He is 85 years old and his house was indeed in dire need of repair,” said Slamet. “Now he has a decent and comfortable home. We as residents are happy to see it. Hopefully, Polri will always be healthy, carry out their duties smoothly, and continue to care for small communities like ours.”
The renovated house for the 85-year-old was handed over directly by Commissioner General Dedi. The house was renovated with a simple, environmentally friendly, and energy-efficient concept. Inside, there is a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. The house is also equipped with solar panels as a source of electrical energy.
Commissioner General Dedi, accompanied by several Polri officials, symbolically handed over the house key and cut the ribbon. He explained that all beneficiaries of this programme had been assessed to ensure the assistance was right on target. “In the context of the 80th Hari Bhayangkara, Polri is carrying out a simultaneous home renovation programme at 80 points across Indonesia. We hope this programme can continue and reach more people in need of decent housing,” said Commissioner General Dedi. “We also ask for prayers and support from the community so that Polri can always maintain security, strengthen synergy with all elements of the nation, and continue to provide benefits to the community.”
After chatting with Mr. Usin, Commissioner General Dedi continued the social activity by distributing basic food packages to other residents in the village.
