Home Affairs Ministry states that the authority of the Acting Regent of Tulungagung is limited
Tulungagung, East Java (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has emphasised that the authority of the Acting Regent (Plt) of Tulungagung, East Java, Ahmad Baharudin, is limited, requiring coordination in making strategic policy decisions. Efrimeiriza, Director of Institutional Facilitation and Regional Apparatus Personnel at the Directorate General of Regional Autonomy, Kemendagri, stated in Tulungagung on Wednesday that these limitations are in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. “Full legitimacy remains with the definitive regent, so the authority of the Plt is highly restricted,” she said. According to her, one of the restricted authorities is the filling of high-ranking leadership positions (JPTP), which are currently vacant in several regional apparatus organisations. “The filling of positions must still go through the applicable mechanisms and requires approval from the Minister of Home Affairs,” she stated. Furthermore, Efrimeiriza noted that the term of the acting regent is a maximum of three months from the appointment and can be extended for another three months. “The determination of the definitive regent awaits the court decision that has final legal force,” she said.
