The Ministry of Home Affairs is encouraging regional governments and the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) to strengthen cross-sector coordination. This step is being taken to maintain regional conduciveness amidst the dynamics of demonstrations occurring in several areas.

Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian emphasised the importance of the role of regional heads as coordination nodes in their respective areas. He asked regional heads to ensure that communication and coordination run effectively with the police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), intelligence agencies, the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), community leaders, religious leaders, and other relevant elements.

“Regional heads must continue to coordinate with the police, TNI, intelligence agencies, DPRD, and community leaders to ensure the situation in their respective areas remains safe and under control,” Tito said in Jakarta on Monday (29/6/2026).

The Ministry of Home Affairs considers Forkopimda to have a strategic role in maintaining socio-political stability in the regions. Through Forkopimda coordination, Tito said, every development on the ground can be monitored, anticipated, and managed quickly, measurably, and in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.
