Home Affairs Minister Tito Witnesses PSEL Danantara and DKI Jakarta Collaboration
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has officially entered into a collaboration with Danantara to expedite the construction of Waste-to-Energy Electricity Processing Facilities (PSEL) in the capital.
Home Affairs Minister (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian directly witnessed the signing ceremony held at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs in Jakarta on Monday (4/5).
The signing was conducted by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Environmental Agency, Dudi Gardesi Asikin, and the Director of Investments at PT Danantara Investment Management, Fadli Rahman.
In addition to Tito, the event was attended by Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, and other relevant officials.
In his remarks, Zulkifli Hasan stated that the signing represents a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto’s instructions to ensure proper waste management across Indonesia. He also expressed gratitude to Tito for his ongoing support of waste-to-energy programmes in the regions.
“Jakarta today demonstrates that these directives are not mere figures but real actions. I appreciate the concrete commitment from Jakarta Governor Mas Pramono Anung,” he said.
Through this collaboration, household waste in Jakarta will be processed into electricity that can be utilised for the city’s needs. The programme is expected to provide a solution for reducing waste accumulation while serving as an alternative energy source.
“That is the promise we sign today together, witnessed by the gentlemen,” he explained.
Zulkifli added that, besides Jakarta, several other regions will soon follow with similar collaboration signings. These include Yogyakarta, Lampung, Serang, Semarang, Surabaya, Bekasi, Medan, Tangerang, Palembang, and Greater Bogor.
“Additionally, four more are being prepared: Pekalongan, Greater Tegal, Batang Regency, and Karawang Regency,” he clarified.
