Home Affairs Minister Tito Ready to Integrate Ministry Data Systems into 'Satu Data Indonesia'

Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian has expressed full support for the establishment of the Satu Data Indonesia (One Data Indonesia) system, which is currently being deliberated in the Draft Law on Satu Data Indonesia. He explained that as the supervisor of regional government administration, the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has proactively developed various digital information systems. These systems are designed to support government data management as well as excellent public services. One of its flagship innovations is the Population Administration Information System (SIAK), managed by the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil). Tito noted that the SIAK database is dynamically updated daily to reflect population events. “The data moves dynamically every day; there are births, deaths, relocations, job changes, marriages, divorces, and so on, all of which are automatically inputted daily,” he explained in a written statement on Thursday (9/7/2026). He made these remarks while attending a working meeting with the Legislative Body (Baleg) of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta. Beyond SIAK, the Ministry of Home Affairs also possesses a range of other crucial digital systems, including the Village Financial System (Siskeudes) and the Village and Sub-district Profile System (Prodeskel). The existence of these systems is considered vital for formulating precise policies based on data down to the grassroots level. Tito further stated that cross-ministerial and institutional data integration has already been progressing well through cooperation schemes. Therefore, the Ministry of Home Affairs is ready to integrate all its systems into the single Satu Data Indonesia platform. “The position of the Ministry of Home Affairs, which has been successfully integrating existing systems to prevent sectoral egos, overlapping, or empty spaces, is that we are ready to officially integrate,” he said. However, Tito provided an important note regarding the readiness of information technology infrastructure for the execution of Satu Data Indonesia. He underscored the need to strengthen storage capacity, bandwidth, and cyber security to optimally protect the confidentiality of citizens’ personal data. “If data management cannot be secured and it falls into the public domain, or data that is not meant to be shared gets breached, then it carries legal risks,” he clarified. The working meeting was chaired by the Head of the DPR’s Legislative Body, Bob Hasan, and was also attended by related ministers, including the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy and the Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto.
