Home Affairs Minister hands over Fire Hawk unit to Bener Meriah government

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Task Force for Sumatra Muhammad Tito Karnavian handed over one multifunctional Fire Hawk fire engine to the Bener Meriah District Government, Aceh. The handover of the multifunctional vehicle took place on Tuesday (7/7) at the Bener Meriah Pendopo and was received directly by Regent Tagore Abubakar. During the handover, Tito, who also serves as Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), said the fire engine was a form of central government support for the Bener Meriah District Government to provide better services to the community. On the same occasion, Tagore Abubakar expressed his gratitude to the Home Affairs Minister for the extensive support given to the region he leads. He noted that the assistance of one fire engine is very useful for the area. Regional Post Chief Safrizal Zakaria, who accompanied the handover, expressed hope that the Fire Hawk would assist and facilitate the Bener Meriah District Government in carrying out various rescue, relief, and other tasks. ‘We hope the Fire Hawk, assistance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, can be utilised as best as possible. Take good care of it, use it well, and hopefully it can help ease the tasks that must be carried out,’ Safrizal said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. Safrizal explained that the Fire Hawk FWS 4000 litre vehicle has various functions. The vehicle can be used as a water supply unit with a capacity of 4,000 litres, and can also be used to help extinguish fires in low-rise buildings and transport water for the needs of displaced persons. Using a Mitsubishi Fuso Canter light-duty truck base type FE 75 SHDX or equivalent variant with 136 PS–150 PS, the Fire Hawks FWS 4000 uses a high-powered Power Take-Off (PTO) pump system integrated directly with the truck chassis transmission. The pump flow capacity is designed to channel water at a rate of up to 528 gallons per minute. The 4,000-litre tank is lined with thick anti-corrosion steel plate material or high-quality stainless steel for long-term durability. This Fire Hawk is also equipped with a hose reel storage compartment, fire extinguisher mount, emergency rotator light, and a water pressure control panel on the side/rear.
