Home Affairs Minister distributes sacrificial animals for Eid al-Adha from Ministry of Home Affairs and BNPP to communities

JAKARTA — Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian symbolically distributed sacrificial animals collected by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) and National Border Management Agency (BNPP) to communities and staff in need.

“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, I, as Minister of Home Affairs, on behalf of myself, my family, the Ministry, and all donors, ask the committee to proceed according to the proper procedures,” Tito stated in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The ceremony forms part of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah celebrations within Kemendagri and BNPP, with Director General of Regional Development (Bangda) Restuardy Daud serving as the committee chair. The initiative also reflects Kemendagri’s social concern.

During the event, the Minister praised the committee and all involved in collecting the sacrificial animals, noting a rise in numbers this year to 360—215 cattle and 145 goats—compared to last year.

“I thank everyone and pray that their good deeds receive blessings from Allah SWT and that the sacrifice is accepted,” he added.

He added that staff are permitted to spend the extended Eid al-Adha holiday with their families, stressing that all duties had been completed beforehand.

On the other hand, Tito urged staff to monitor community conditions during the holiday, ensuring social stability. “Even during the extended holiday, we will continue working on Fridays,” he said.
