Home Affairs Minister and Social Affairs Minister Deliver First Phase of Social Aid Worth Almost Rp900 Billion to Disaster-Affected Communities
Banda Aceh — The government has disbursed the first tranche of social assistance (bansos) to disaster-affected communities in three provinces: Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The disbursement was carried out by Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian, who also serves as the Head of the Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Task Force for Post-Disaster Sumatra, together with the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf. The total aid for this phase amounts to Rp878,681,800,000 and comprises the Household Infill Aid (BIH), the Social Economic Stimulus Aid (BSSE), and the Living Allowance (Jadup) for affected communities. BIH and BSSE were allocated to 67,886 Beneficiary Families (KPM). The breakdown is BIH Rp203,658,000,000 and BSSE Rp339,430,000,000, bringing the BIH+BSSE total to Rp543,088,000,000. In addition, Jadup was disbursed to 248,588 Beneficiaries (PM) at Rp450,000 per month for three months, bringing the Jadup total to Rp335,593,800,000. All aid is channelled through PT Pos Indonesia.
‘There will be another wave of aid,’ Mendagri said at the closing of the Aceh Ramadan Festival 2026 ‘Khanduri Nuzulul Quran’ at the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque complex in Banda Aceh, on Friday, 6 March 2026.
Earlier, Mendagri had emphasised the matter during the Handing-over of Inheritance Compensation for Hydrometeorological Disaster Victims and the Hybrid Socialisation of TKD Increase for 2026 for Aceh, North Sumatra and Sumbar, from MTQ Pidie Jaya, Aceh, Friday, 6 March 2026.
In Aceh Province, total assistance disbursed reached Rp450,765,150,000. BIH and BSSE were provided to 35,085 KPM, with BIH Rp105,255,000,000 and BSSE Rp175,425,000,000, totalling Rp280,680,000,000. Jadup was distributed to 125,989 beneficiaries with total Rp170,085,150,000.
‘Rp400 billion of it is in Aceh; half of that, Rp241 billion, is in Pidie Jaya,’ he said.
For North Sumatra, the assistance to residents amounted to Rp82,809,950,000. The package comprises BIH Rp11,028,000,000 and BSSE Rp18,380,000,000 to 3,676 KPM, totalling Rp29,408,000,000. Jadup was given to 39,557 beneficiaries amounting to Rp53,401,950,000.
