Home Affairs Minister Accompanies Prabowo in Leadership Enhancement Course for DPRD Chairmen Across Indonesia
Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian accompanied President Prabowo Subianto in delivering guidance at the Leadership Enhancement Course for Regional Leaders (KPPD) for Chairmen of Regional People’s Representative Councils (DPRD) throughout Indonesia. Tito’s presence at the event forms part of the central government’s support in strengthening the capacity of regional legislative leadership.
The activity took place at the Military Academy complex in Magelang, Central Java, with the theme ‘Strengthening the Role of Provincial/District/City DPRD Leaders to Support Asta Cita Towards Golden Indonesia 2045’.
Furthermore, this attendance also serves as a form of actualisation in the development and supervision of regional government administration. This is considering that the Home Affairs Ministry is the developer and general supervisor of regional government.
In his address, Prabowo emphasised the importance of the strategic role of DPRD Chairmen in supporting national development. He stated that his direct presence at the forum was based on the importance of the position of regional legislative leaders in the government system.
“After I learned that this is all DPRD Chairmen from across Indonesia, I consider it important and appropriate for me to attend directly,” said Prabowo in a written statement on Saturday (18/4/2026).
Prabowo also stressed the importance of national spirit amid the diverse backgrounds of the participants, ranging from regional origins, ethnicities, education, to political affiliations. He invited all participants to prioritise the interests of the nation and state.
“As children of the nation, today I want to speak from heart to heart, I want to speak plainly,” said Prabowo.
Through the forum, Prabowo affirmed that Indonesia’s strength is not only determined by the central government but also heavily depends on solid, integrity-based, and people-oriented regional leadership.
Meanwhile, in his report, Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) of the Republic of Indonesia, Ace Hasan Syadzily, conveyed the implementation of the activity.
“This KPPD has been running for five days, Mr President, from 15 April to tomorrow, 19 April 2026, at the Tidar Valley of the Military Academy in Magelang, where national leaders are forged and trained, attended by 503 DPRD Chairmen,” emphasised Ace Hasan.
