Holiday Returnees Urged Not to Force Return on 24 March, Utilise Work from Anywhere
VIVA – The Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Polri, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, has urged holiday returnees not to force their return to Jakarta tomorrow. He also mentioned that the one-way national system for the return flow could be extended. “We urge the public, with the existence of work from anywhere (WFA), not to pile up (returning) on 24 March,” said Inspector General Agus to reporters on Monday, 23 March 2026. Korlantas Polri is known to implement the national one-way return flow tomorrow at 2:00 PM WIB. The traffic engineering system will start from Km 414 of the Kalikangkung Toll to Km 70 of the Cikampek Main Toll. Inspector General Agus stated that the one-way national return flow policy could also be extended until Thursday, 26 March, if the flow of vehicles heading to Jakarta is considered high. He hopes the public can arrange their return times to avoid vehicle build-up. “Even if the one-way national return flow on the 24th is crowded, on the 25th we will extend it, we will implement one-way again. So there will be one-way on the 24th, 25th, up to the 26th if there is still traffic generation, we will open it again,” he said. Inspector General Agus assured that Korlantas Polri is ready to face the Lebaran return flow with several traffic engineering systems. However, he also urged returnees not to force themselves to return to Jakarta tomorrow. “We suggest to our brothers and sisters who are currently on holiday not to have to depart on the 24th. It can be on the 26th, 27th, there is work from anywhere, the country provides flexibility to choose travel so that dense build-up does not occur,” concluded Inspector General Agus.
