Holiday Allowance for 2 Million Employees and 3.6 Million Retirees Distributed by Finance Ministry
Jakarta – The Head of the Communications and Information Service Bureau of the Finance Ministry, Deni Surjantoro, reported that the ministry has distributed holiday allowance (THR) to 2.093 million employees at central and regional levels as well as 3.618 million retirees.
“As of 10 March 2026, holiday allowance funds for central government civil servants totalling Rp11.16 trillion have been paid to 2.076 million employees and personnel,” Deni stated in a Finance Ministry press release on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
The allocation breakdown comprises Rp6.12 trillion for 825,928 civil servants, Rp752.8 billion for 295,054 contractual government workers (PPPK), Rp1.84 trillion for 461,119 police personnel, Rp2.23 trillion for 452,874 military personnel, and Rp153.42 billion for 39,486 non-permanent government employees (PPNPN).
“Holiday allowance payments for central government civil servants were processed through 8,279 ministry and agency working units,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rp127.6 billion in holiday allowance funds for regional civil servants as of 9 March 2026 had been distributed to 16,848 employees by three out of 546 regional governments (0.54 per cent). The Finance Ministry has also distributed Rp11.54 trillion in holiday allowance funds to 3.618 million retirees (94.63 per cent).
In this regard, PT Taspen distributed Rp10.1 trillion in holiday allowance to 3.115 million retirees (94.02 per cent), whilst PT Asabri distributed Rp1.44 trillion to 503,560 retirees (99.13 per cent).
Previously, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that holiday allowance funds for civil servants had been made available and were ready for disbursement. However, not all have been distributed as some agencies have yet to submit requests for fund disbursement to the Finance Ministry.
The government has allocated Rp55 trillion to provide holiday allowances to central civil servants, regional civil servants, contractual workers, military and police personnel, and retirees in 2026.
The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, stated that government allocation for 2026 holiday allowances increased by approximately 10 per cent from Rp49 trillion in the previous year. The government commenced disbursement of holiday allowance funds to employees in stages beginning 26 February 2026 until a maximum of seven days before Eid al-Fitr.
