National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo attended the 2026 Hoegeng Awards ceremony. During the event, Sigit emphasised the importance of every Polri personnel having integrity in carrying out their duties to serve the public.

General Sigit expressed appreciation for police officers who remain dedicated even without supervision. According to him, honesty and hard work are an institutional mandate that must be upheld.

“We hope that (police officers) will continue to work wherever they are. Whether they are supervised or not, they work earnestly to carry out the mandate of the institution,” said General Sigit at The Tribrata, South Jakarta, on Friday evening (31/7/2026).

General Sigit also thanked Founder & Chairman of CT Corp, Chairul Tanjung, who has consistently collaborated over the past five years in identifying exemplary police officers. He hopes that the spirit of General Hoegeng will continue to inspire the emergence of future ‘Young Hoegeng’ figures.

“I hope this is maintained and carried out by all members wherever they are, to keep the spirit of Hoegeng burning. How we can continue to carry out the mandate of our beloved institution to truly be present, providing protection, shelter, and service to the community,” he said.

This year, the Hoegeng Awards received 9,000 nominations from the public. Sigit assessed that the thousands of nominated police officers possess extraordinary dedication to the institution and the country.

“Of course, I am grateful because, without realising it, this is already the fifth year, and the Hoegeng Awards have selected five people from 9,000 nominations. For me, the 9,000 who were nominated certainly also carry out their duties with the same dedication and spirit,” he continued.

On the same occasion, Founder & Chairman of CT Corp, Chairul Tanjung, appreciated the increasingly competitive selection process for the Hoegeng Awards. He confirmed that the nominations purely came from public aspirations.

“These nominations were not proposed by the police officers themselves, but by the public. This proves that the Hoegeng Awards can motivate police officers to be more honest and to work beyond their main duties,” he said.

According to him, this has a direct impact on the police’s image in the eyes of the public. He observed a positive trend in the level of public trust in the Bhayangkara Corps.

“This is also reflected in the level of public trust in the National Police, which continues to increase every year. This means the public increasingly sees our police officers as better and more honest,” he concluded.

The 2026 Hoegeng Awards have concluded. After gathering proposals from the public and a rigorous selection process, five exemplary police officers were chosen as recipients of the 2026 Hoegeng Awards.
