A hockey athlete who won a silver medal at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand from Cianjur Regency, Dian Wildiani, received a bonus of Rp20 million from the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Cianjur. The bonus was awarded as a form of appreciation for the achievement attained at the international event.

The bonus presentation took place during the 2025 Cianjur Regency Working Meeting (Rakerkab) of KONI Cianjur at Bale Praja Pendopo Cianjur on Friday 27 February. The bonus was presented directly by Cianjur Regent Mohammad Wahyu Ferdian, accompanied by the Chairman of KONI Cianjur Beny Rustandi.

“Cianjur Regency has accomplished athletes who strengthened the national hockey team at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. Alhamdulillah, our athletes obtained a silver medal,” said Wahyu.

According to Wahyu, the achievement was evidence that the athlete development pattern in Cianjur is proceeding well. However, he reminded that sports development requires a process and strong foundation.

“Strong foundations need to be built. Once solid, God willing, in the future we can produce processes, generate commitment, and produce good programmes,” he said.

The Chairman of KONI Cianjur, Beny Rustandi, explained that the 2025 Rakerkab served as a forum for evaluating current year work programmes whilst also drafting projections for 2026. The agenda also coincided with preparations for the qualifying round of Porprov XV West Java 2026.

“In principle, this rakerkab is an evaluation and projection. The evaluation relates to programmes that have been implemented throughout 2025 and projections for 2026 programmes,” said Beny.

He mentioned that the results of the preliminary qualifying round showed that Cianjur Regency qualified 40 sports disciplines with 327 athletes, 49 coaches, and 80 officials. “Of course, this is quite a proud achievement,” he said.

Nevertheless, Beny affirmed that his side was not setting high targets at the Porprov XV West Java event. He felt that a target of finishing in the top 15 would be quite realistic.

“In the previous Porprov, Cianjur Regency ranked 26th out of 27 cities and regencies. So, I think finishing in the top 15 is very realistic,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of KONI West Java, Prof Muhammad Budiana, stated that the KONI Cianjur Rakerkab was part of consolidation efforts ahead of the 2026 West Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov XV).

He explained that three main cities and three supporting regions have declared their readiness to host Porprov XV. “There is Bogor City, Depok City, and Bekasi City which are the main cities for Porprov XV. Then there are three supporting regions namely Bandung City, Sumedang Regency, and Bogor Regency,” said Budiana.

Budiana appreciated the steps and preparations carried out by KONI Cianjur. He hoped the targets set could be achieved. “What KONI Cianjur has done is already extraordinary,” he said.

The Chairman of the Organising Committee (OC) of the 2025 Rakerkab, Amril Rahmat Solihin, added that the activity was attended by sports discipline administrators throughout Cianjur Regency. Besides evaluating programmes, the forum also established new sports disciplines. “Simultaneously, we also introduced and established new sports disciplines,” he said.
