Jakarta (ANTARA/JACX) – A post on social media platform X features a photo of Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan and narrates as if he stated that the people’s duty is only to pay taxes and they need not interfere in government affairs. The narrative in the post reads: “ZULHAS EMPHASISES ‘THE PEOPLE’S DUTY IS ONLY ONE, NAMELY TO PAY TAXES, THEY SHOULD NOT INTERFERE IN GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS’ However, did Zulhas truly state that citizens need not interfere in government affairs? Explanation: Based on tracing, no official statement from Zulkifli Hasan mentioning such a thing was found. The photo in the post is similar to a YouTube upload titled “‘I AM READY TO BE ACCOUNTABLE IN THE HEREAFTER’ HARRISON FORD VIDEO RESURFACES.. THIS IS ZULHAS’S RESPONSE!!” uploaded on 1 December 2025. In the original video, Zulkifli Hasan instead discusses clarification on forestry policy issues and allegations related to floods in Sumatra and Aceh, not delivering the statement claimed in the post. Therefore, the claim that Zulkifli Hasan said citizens need not interfere in government affairs is untrue information or a hoax.
