Hoax! Video of Purbaya Urging Public to Register for Grant Assistance

False information is circulating once again, misappropriating the name of Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. This hoax is appearing in the form of a video claiming that Minister Purbaya is urging the public to register for grant assistance from local governments.

The Ministry of Finance has confirmed that the video is a hoax and has requested that the public not be deceived.

“The circulating video regarding Finance Minister Purbaya urging the public to register for grant assistance from local governments is a deepfake hoax video,” the Ministry of Finance stated in an Instagram post on Friday (26/06/2026).

The Ministry of Finance has also urged the public to be wary of the spread of fake videos and news claiming to represent Finance Minister Purbaya.

This is not the first time Minister Purbaya has been targeted by hoax videos. Previously, a video circulated claiming that he was providing cash assistance ranging from Rp10 million to Rp50 million.

Furthermore, on Wednesday (24/06/2026), a video appeared on social media featuring a figure of Minister Purbaya stating that he would expose losses within State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), such as PLN, Garuda Indonesia, and Pertamina.
