Hoax! Video of Police Officer Mauled by Tiger During Traffic Stop
Jakarta – A 15-second video uploaded to Facebook, apparently showing footage from inside a vehicle, depicted a police officer seemingly issuing a traffic citation to a motorcycle rider. Moments later in the video, the officer appeared to be attacked by a tiger.
The video carried the caption: “An officer conducting a traffic stop is suddenly attacked by a tiger.”
However, is this video of a police officer being mauled by a tiger during a traffic stop genuine?
Findings:
Based on investigation, no official information was found regarding an incident of a police officer being attacked by a tiger whilst conducting a traffic stop.
Analysis using the AI Detector Hive Moderation tool showed the video possessed a 99.8 per cent probability of being artificially generated content (AI).
Therefore, the video depicting a police officer being attacked by a tiger whilst issuing a traffic citation to a motorcycle rider is the result of editing or deepfake technology.
