A social media post on Instagram claimed that Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Executive Chairman of Gerindra Party’s DPP, regretted having been a supporter of President Prabowo Subianto. The post featured a video clip of Dasco alongside other officials during a press conference, accompanied by audio alleging his disappointment with Prabowo’s leadership and a call for the president to step down. The caption read: ‘Prabowo, Prabowo, what happened to your campaign promises?’

However, is the video of Sufmi Dasco Ahmad regretting his support for Prabowo genuine?

Based on verification, there is no official statement from the government or credible media indicating that Sufmi Dasco Ahmad regretted supporting President Prabowo Subianto. In fact, the video in the post matches footage from a press conference published on YouTube by Liputan6 at the DPR Building on 31 July 2025. During the event, Dasco gave a press statement alongside the Commission III chairman, the State Secretary, and the Justice Minister. In the original video, Dasco did not discuss regretting his support or criticise Prabowo’s leadership. Instead, he made official statements regarding the amnesty for former Trade Minister Tom Lembong and a pardon for PDI-P Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto. Additionally, the circulating video showed mismatched lip movements with the audio, indicating audio manipulation. Therefore, the claim that Sufmi Dasco Ahmad regretted supporting Prabowo Subianto is false and a hoax.
