Hoax: Video falsely claims Anies Baswedan offers free Hajj quota

A social media post on Facebook falsely claimed former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan offered a free Hajj quota programme to the public. The post featured a clip of Anies speaking with a caption urging people to register via a link for limited quota. However, investigations revealed no official government or credible media reports support this claim. The video was manipulated from a genuine YouTube post by Anies on 8 February 2024, which announced a ‘Kumpul Akbar’ event at Jakarta International Stadium on 10 February as part of his closing campaign for the 2024 presidential election with Muhaimin Iskandar. Thus, the claim is a hoax.
