Hoax! Nanik arrested for MBG corruption in June 2026
A Facebook post featured a graphic depicting President Prabowo Subianto and National Nutrition Agency (BGN) head Nanik Sudaryati Deyang. In the graphic, Nanik was shown wearing a pink vest resembling a detainee’s uniform against a backdrop bearing the name of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The post included the text ‘Breaking News’ and a narrative claiming Nanik had just been inaugurated as head of BGN, then was arrested for alleged involvement in corruption related to the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. The graphic also contained the sentence ‘JKW tinggal tunggu giliran’ (JKW is just waiting his turn). However, no official statement from the KPK, President Prabowo, or the palace was found confirming the arrest of BGN head Nanik Sudaryati Deyang for involvement in an MBG corruption case. The National Nutrition Agency had previously clarified a circulating narrative regarding the alleged distribution of MBG programme profits to President Prabowo Subianto. BGN confirmed that information was false or a hoax. The agency assured that no statement had been made by the head of BGN or any official claiming that Nanik distributed MBG programme profits to the President. BGN explained that irresponsible parties often misuse the names of public officials to build provocative and misleading narratives for the public. The public is urged to refer only to information disseminated through official BGN channels, such as the website, press releases, and verified social media accounts. Furthermore, the photo of Nanik used in the post is not authentic. An examination by ANTARA using the AI Detector Hive Moderation indicated a 99.9 per cent probability that the image was generated by artificial intelligence or was a deepfake. The claim that Nanik Sudaryati Deyang was arrested for involvement in MBG corruption is therefore baseless, and the photo used in the post is an AI-generated fabrication.
