Hoax: Mob raids Jokowi's house and finds bunker with Rp6,000 trillion
A video circulating on Facebook falsely claims that a mob raided the Solo residence of Indonesia’s seventh president, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), and discovered a bunker containing Rp6,000 trillion. The post features a video of a person resembling Jokowi being escorted by officers, alongside a photo of stacks of money allegedly found in the bunker. The accompanying narrative calls Jokowi a ‘bandit’ and urges the public to seize his assets.
However, an investigation by ANTARA found the claims to be entirely false. The photograph of the money stacks is actually a documentation from a press conference held by the Metro Jaya Police on 10 July 2026. The cash was evidence from an investigation into a corruption and money laundering case involving state-owned enterprises PT PLN, PT Asabri, and PT Krakatau Steel, and has no connection to Jokowi’s residence. Furthermore, an analysis using the Hive Moderation AI detector indicated a 99.7 percent probability that the video was artificially generated. No official information or statement from the police or any authorised institution supports the claim of a raid or the discovery of a bunker at Jokowi’s home.
