Jakarta (ANTARA/JACX) – A post on Instagram social media claims that the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) permits corruption as long as it is carried out in accordance with procedures and Islamic Sharia. The post features a photo of the Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, seemingly stating: “Corruption is fine as long as it follows procedures and Islamic Sharia, for example, the fifth pillar of Islam.” However, is it true that Kemenag permits corruption if done according to procedure? Explanation: Based on investigations, no information or official statements from the government or credible media have been found stating that the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) permits corruption as long as it follows procedures and Islamic Sharia. On the contrary, as reported by ANTARA, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar has affirmed Kemenag’s commitment to preventing corruption practices.
