Hoax! King Salman Provides Rp13 Trillion BLT to Indonesians During Ramadan
Jakarta (ANTARA/JACX) – A post on the Facebook social media platform claims that King Salman is providing direct cash assistance (BLT) of a large amount to the public during Ramadan. The post features a photo of King Salman, said to be visiting patients in a hospital while providing assistance to the public. The following is the narrative in the post: “King Salman distributes Rp13 trillion BLT during Ramadan, 1 family receives Rp4.5 million”. However, is it true that King Salman is giving Rp13 trillion to Indonesians during Ramadan? Explanation: Based on the results of the search, no official information or reports from credible media were found stating that King Salman is distributing BLT of Rp13 trillion to the public. The photo circulating in the post is also known to come from a different context. One of the identical photos matches a CNBC Indonesia report from 2021, while the other is related to a social activity at the University of Surabaya (Ubaya) in 2016. In that activity, the assistance provided consisted of iftar meals, dates, and Al-Quran, not large amounts of money as claimed. Therefore, the claim that King Salman is distributing BLT up to Rp13 trillion during Ramadan is unfounded information.
