Hoax! Indonesia Officially Halts Fuel Imports
Jakarta (ANTARA/JACX) – A post on the Facebook social media platform claims that the Indonesian government will secretly halt imports of fuel oil (BBM), including from Singapore. The post also states that this policy affects other countries and includes the claim that Indonesia has completely cut off BBM imports from Singapore. Here is the narrative from the post: “Singapore gets sacked! Indonesia completely stops BBM imports from the Lion City Indonesia halts BBM imports from Singapore” However, is it true that Indonesia has officially stopped BBM imports? Explanation: Based on the results of the investigation, no official statements or reports from credible media were found stating that the Indonesian government has stopped BBM imports entirely. Quoted from ANTARA, the government instead assures that national energy resilience remains secure amid global dynamics. Additionally, the video in the post is known to be a recording from when President Prabowo attended the Board of Peace (BoP) meeting in Washington DC in February 2026. In the video, President Prabowo discusses Indonesia’s support for peace efforts in Gaza and does not mention any policy on halting BBM imports. Therefore, the claim that the Indonesian government has completely stopped BBM imports is untrue information or a hoax. Claim: Government halts BBM imports Rating: Hoax Fact-check: Hoax!
