Hoax: Dedi Mulyadi Hospitalised and in a Coma on 20 May 2026

A social media post on Facebook claimed that West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi had been rushed to hospital and was in a coma on 20 May 2026. The post included an image and caption showing Dedi lying in a hospital bed with medical equipment. The caption read: “Please pray for him… aminn Inalillahiiiiii Dedi Mulyadi has been rushed to hospital and is in a coma.” However, investigations found no official information or credible media reports confirming the governor’s hospitalisation or coma on that date. The image was sourced from a YouTube upload by KANG DEDI MULYADI CHANNEL dated 26 January 2022, when he discussed undergoing vocal cord surgery due to excessive speaking. In the video, Dedi stated he was in good health after the procedure, saying, “We are not sick. We are healthy. But steps will be taken to ensure better health.” Additionally, Dedi remained active on his official Instagram account, with posts showing he was carrying out duties on 20 May 2026. Therefore, the claim is false and classified as a hoax.
