Ho Chi Minh feather plant destroyed

HANOI (AFP): A Taiwanese plant located in an export processing
zone in Ho Chi Minh City was virtually destroyed in a blaze, an
official said yesterday.

The Taiwanese-owned Viva Feather Wool Ltd. located in Tan
Thuan Export Processing Zone (EPZ) on the outskirts of Ho Chi
Minh City was between 80 percent and 96 percent destroyed by a
fire Wednesday, an EPZ official said.

The cause of the fire was not known and no fatalities were
reported. Viva Feather investment was licensed for US$670,000.
