HNW Awards Recognise Exemplary Quran Teachers and Dengue Fighters
Deputy Speaker of the MPR RI and member of the DPR RI’s Commission VIII from PKS, Hidayat Nur Wahid (HNW), held the HNW Awards as a response to constituents’ aspirations and appreciation for various community elements in his electoral district. The awards were given to residents deemed productive and providing tangible benefits in their respective environments.
HNW stated that the event was also held as thanksgiving for the 24th anniversary of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), themed ‘Empowered Anniversary: Together with the People Strengthening Indonesia’s Resilience’. Additionally, the activity forms part of the DPR RI’s recess agenda.
Awards were presented in several categories, including Productive PKS Cadres, Exemplary PPSU Workers, Exemplary Jumantik Volunteers, Exemplary Dasawisma Groups, Exemplary Online Drivers, Productive Quran Teachers, and Productive Taklim Councils.
“Alhamdulillah, this event not only realises residents’ aspirations but also serves as appreciation for citizens who are active and contributive in the community. They may not appear in the media or go viral, but their work is genuinely felt by local residents, which is very positive and embodies the theme of PKS’s 24th Anniversary; together with the people and its activists, we can strengthen Indonesia’s resilience,” said HNW in his statement on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
According to HNW, strengthening Indonesia’s resilience is also supported by community contributions at the grassroots level. Such contributions can emerge through various social-religious activities or community empowerment initiatives.
One example is the recipient of the Exemplary Quran Teacher Award, Ustadz Abdul Muhith, who actively teaches at 14 taklim councils in the Kemayoran area, Central Jakarta. This activity is seen as having a positive impact on the spiritual and social resilience of the local community.
Meanwhile, in the Exemplary Jumantik category, one recipient is Nurhasanah. Together with other Jumantik cadres, she is credited with maintaining environmental health, resulting in no dengue fever cases throughout 2026 in their neighbourhood unit (RW).
HNW hopes the HNW Awards will motivate the community to continue contributing and providing solutions in their environments, according to each individual’s capacity.
“National resilience needs to be appreciated when built from the bottom up, from the people. When citizens are empowered and productive, Indonesia will also become stronger. We in the PKS Faction are also continuously striving to create policy ecosystems at the national level that support such community contributions. May this 24th PKS anniversary become a momentum for strengthening, that consistent contributions can be delivered by anyone, whether by its officials or the people, including in their collaboration with People’s Representatives and the Party,” concluded HNW.
The HNW Awards event was also attended by the Pasar Minggu Sub-District Head Puji Meilita, RW 08 Chairman Bambang Kuntjoro, RT 04 Chairman Endy Suryadi, and various community leaders.
