HMSI Supports Education by Donating Hino 300 Truck
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI) has reaffirmed its commitment to education by donating a Hino 300 truck and various vehicle components to SMKN 5 Makassar, South Sulawesi, to serve as practical learning tools for students. HMSI President Director Shingo Sakai stated that the company firmly believes education plays a crucial role in developing competent and work-ready human resources. “Through the Hino Indonesia Partnership School programme, we aim to make a tangible contribution to education and help cultivate outstanding Indonesian youth who meet current industry needs,” Sakai said in an official statement on Friday. The handover took place on the grounds of SMKN 5 Makassar on Jalan Sunu No.162, with Sakai and Kumala Grup President Director Erwin Tandiawan presenting the donation to school principal Amar Bachti, witnessed by teachers and students. The assistance is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Hino Indonesia Partnership School (HIPS), which seeks to enhance the quality of vocational education and prepare human resources suited to the automotive and commercial vehicle industry. Through these learning facilities, students can gain hands-on experience with commercial vehicle technology, including diesel common rail engine systems, air braking systems, and electrical systems widely used in the national transport and logistics sectors. In addition to providing practical equipment, HMSI and SMKN 5 Makassar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a Hino industry class for the first cohort in the 2026 academic year, accommodating 20 students. The HIPS programme encompasses not only equipment donations but also technical training, industry-based curriculum development, competency certification, and capacity building for both teachers and students. This initiative is part of Hino’s broader effort to build a vocational education ecosystem aligned with the needs of the transport industry and the advancement of automotive technology in Indonesia.
