HMD Vibe 2 Officially Launched, Boasts Wide Camera Module Similar to iPhone
KOMPAS.com reports that smartphone vendor HMD has officially released their latest phone, the HMD Vibe 2 5G, in India. The device serves as the successor to the HMD Vibe 5G released in September 2025. As the successor, the HMD Vibe 2 5G brings several upgrades, including a larger battery capacity, a 120 Hz display, and a new camera module. Compared with the previous generation which featured a simple rectangular camera module, the HMD Vibe 2 5G now presents a wider rear camera area. Inside the module there are two vertically stacked camera lens circles, along with an LED flash beside it. At a glance, the camera module resembles the design of recent iPhone models. This design change makes the HMD Vibe 2 5G look more modern and premium. The front retains the notch waterdrop design to house the 8 MP selfie camera. On the rear, there is a 50 MP main camera accompanied by one additional sensor, though the details of the supporting sensor have not been disclosed. In terms of hardware, the Vibe 2 5G is powered by a Unisoc T8200 chipset, paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage. For power, the phone is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery, an increase over the previous model which used a 5,000 mAh battery. However, despite the larger capacity, charging support remains wired 18W fast charging. On the software side, the Vibe 2 5G runs Android 16 and is promised two years of security patch updates. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5 mm audio jack, IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, dual 5G SIMs, and USB-C. The HMD Vibe 2 5G comes in three colours: Cosmic Lavender, Nordic Blue, and Peach Pink. The price of this phone, as compiled by KompasTekno from GSMArena. The HMD Vibe 2 5G is scheduled to begin availability on Flipkart on 26 May 2026.
