The Indonesian Industrial Estates Association (HKI) has affirmed its commitment to becoming a strategic partner for Russian investors seeking to develop investments in Indonesia. The commitment was conveyed during the Innoprom 2026 series, the largest international industrial exhibition in Russia and the Eurasian region, held from 6–9 July 2026 in Yekaterinburg. This year, Indonesia was entrusted as the official partner country, an honour that opens wider space for investment promotion, industrial cooperation, and strengthening economic partnership between the two nations. During the business forum, HKI Chairman Sanny Iskandar actively promoted Indonesia’s various advantages as an investment destination. Addressing Russian industry players, Iskandar stated that Indonesia possesses strong economic stability, a large domestic market, a strategic position as a gateway to the ASEAN region, and is supported by a growing network of industrial estates with increasingly competitive infrastructure and utilities. Iskandar also emphasised that the current government has a very strong commitment to encouraging new investment through regulatory simplification, licensing acceleration, infrastructure development, and strengthening a business climate that provides certainty for investors. He noted that synergy between the government and industrial estate managers is crucial capital to accelerate investment realisation in Indonesia. HKI is ready to be a trusted local partner by facilitating the provision of industrial land, assisting throughout the licensing process, and matching investors with the industrial estates most suited to their business needs. As a concrete manifestation of this commitment, HKI signed a memorandum of understanding with the Association of Clusters, Technology Parks and Special Economic Zones of Russia. The cooperation document was signed directly by the association’s CEO, Labudin Mikhail, together with the HKI Chairman, and witnessed by Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov. This cooperation serves as a foundation to strengthen relations between the industrial zones of both countries, covering investment promotion, exchange of business opportunity information, development of joint industrial projects, and facilitation of investment by Russian companies in Indonesia and Indonesian companies in Russia. Iskandar added that HKI, which oversees industrial estate managers across various regions of Indonesia, is ready to provide assistance to investors from the early stages of investment, from site selection and land provision to coordination with industrial estate managers and facilitation of various licensing processes. Through participation in Innoprom 2026 and the signing of this cooperation, HKI is optimistic that economic relations between Indonesia and Russia will grow closer, while opening new investment opportunities in the manufacturing, downstream processing, technology, logistics, energy, and industrial estate sectors.
