The Indonesian Industrial Estates Association (HKI) has expressed its readiness to facilitate the provision of industrial estate land and assist with the licensing process for Russian investors wishing to invest in Indonesia. HKI Chairman Akhmad Ma’ruf Maulana stated in Ekaterinburg, Russia, on Tuesday that Indonesia possesses various advantages as an investment destination, ranging from strong economic stability and a large domestic market to its strategic position as a gateway to the ASEAN region and a continuously expanding network of industrial estates supported by increasingly competitive infrastructure and utilities. According to Ma’ruf, the Indonesian government is also continuously strengthening the investment climate through regulatory simplification, licensing acceleration, infrastructure development, and providing business certainty for investors. He noted that synergy between the government and industrial estate managers is considered crucial capital to accelerate investment realisation. As a follow-up to this commitment, HKI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Clusters, Technology Parks and Special Economic Zones of Russia. The agreement was signed by the association’s chief executive officer, Labudin Mikhail, together with the HKI Chairman, and witnessed by Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov. The cooperation serves as a foundation to strengthen relations between the industrial estates of both countries through investment promotion, exchange of business opportunity information, development of joint industrial projects, capacity building for industrial estate management, and facilitation of investment for Russian companies in Indonesia and Indonesian companies in Russia. This approach is expected to accelerate investment realisation so that business actors can promptly commence their operational activities. Furthermore, through participation in the international industrial exhibition in Russia, INNOPROM 2026, and the signing of this cooperation, HKI is optimistic that economic relations between Indonesia and Russia will grow closer while opening new investment opportunities in the manufacturing, downstream processing, technology, logistics, energy, and industrial estate sectors.
