History museum closed temporarily

JAKARTA (JP): The history museum at Taman Fatahilllah in West Jakarta will be temporarily closed for fumigation of the main hall from Aug. 28 to Aug. 31.

The museum, famous for its colonial furniture collection, will be open to public again starting Sept. 1.

Ever since the museum was restored between June and August 1999, the number of visitors has increased from 1,500 per month to about 5,000 per month, museum director Tinia Budiati told The Jakarta Post on Monday.

The entrance charge is Rp 2,000 for adults, Rp 750 for students and Rp 500 for children. (06)
