Hisense Group Commits to Establishing Long-Term Partnership with Indonesia
Jakarta, Pasbana - Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara (“BPI Danantara”), as the state-owned investment management agency of the Republic of Indonesia, today (16/05) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hisense Group Holding Co. Ltd. (“Hisense Group”), one of the largest technology and industrial groups headquartered in China.
The signing was witnessed by Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, and Shaoqian Jia, Chairman of Hisense Group Holdings.
This agreement establishes a framework for comprehensive long-term cooperation across various industrial, technological, and innovation sectors in Indonesia.

The Memorandum of Understanding reflects Hisense Group’s strategic commitment to deepening its presence in Indonesia and participating in the national industrial transformation together with Indonesian institutions.
Under this cooperative framework, Hisense Group plans to expand its activities in Indonesia through various business lines and gradually develop new investment areas. The parties agreed to jointly explore opportunities in advanced manufacturing, technology localization, research and development, and strengthening industrial capabilities in Indonesia.
This cooperation will be designed to support the establishment of a significant technology research center in Indonesia, technology development activities, local workforce skills development, and the sustainability of Hisense Group’s industrial footprint in the country.
The signing reflects Hisense Group’s strategic decision to make Indonesia a long-term strategic market as well as a future hub for innovation, research and development, and high-value industrial activities. The parties view this cooperation as the beginning of a multi-year, multi-sector partnership, not just a single transaction.
The parties also affirmed that this Memorandum of Understanding will be followed up with various structured work programs to identify and develop more specific cooperative initiatives, including specific research and development activities and Hisense Group’s investments in Indonesia, in line with the Indonesian Government’s industrialization and innovation priorities.
This signing is one of the most substantive manifestations to date of a leading global company seeing Indonesia not only as a market but also as a strategic destination for investment, technology, and long-term partnership.
Hisense Group expressed its appreciation to the Indonesian Government for the opportunity to participate in last year’s national education digitalization program and will continue to fully support the expansion of this program this year and in the years to come. (*)
