The Indonesian Shopping Centre Tenants Association (Hippindo) has officially launched three shopping festival programmes this August, namely Belanja di Indonesia Aja (BINA) August, Hari Retail Modern Indonesia (HARMONI), and the Indonesia Retail Summit & Expo (IRSE) 2026.

Hippindo Chairman and BINA Movement Chairman Budihardjo Iduansjah said in Jakarta on Thursday that this is a national momentum to strengthen domestic trade, encourage public consumption, attract tourists to shop in Indonesia, and accelerate national economic growth through collaboration between the government and the business sector.

“Through the series of Belanja di Indonesia Aja (BINA), Hari Retail Modern Indonesia (HARMONI), and the Indonesia Retail Summit & Expo (IRSE), Hippindo together with the government is inviting the public to shop more in Indonesia, whether for local brands, global brands operating in Indonesia, or MSMEs,” said Budihardjo.

According to him, the movement aims to encourage the public to make Indonesia a shopping destination, whether through local brands or global brands that invest and operate in Indonesia, as well as MSMEs.

“So that every transaction can drive domestic trade,” said Budihardjo.

He said Hippindo wants to make the retail sector a locomotive for Indonesia’s economic growth. He believes that when the public and tourists increasingly shop in Indonesia, the benefits will be felt by the entire ecosystem.

The ecosystem includes industry, suppliers, MSMEs, shopping centres, and millions of workers.

“Amid global economic challenges, the domestic market must be our main strength,” said Budihardjo.

“Made Indonesia Shop Again is not merely a slogan, but a collective call to make Indonesia a shopping destination, drive domestic trade, attract tourists, strengthen national industry, and create more jobs,” he added.

Meanwhile, IRSE 2026 Chairman and Hippindo Secretary General Haryanto Pratantara said IRSE is a concrete implementation to improve the competence of Indonesia’s retail industry.

“IRSE is not just a conference and exhibition, but a collaborative forum that brings together the entire trade ecosystem to share knowledge, expand business networks, adopt technology, and formulate a roadmap for the development of the national retail industry,” said Haryanto.
