Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Thousand Islands branch of the Indonesian Native Entrepreneurs Association (DPC HIPPI) is committed to empowering the community’s economy and optimising regional potential.

This commitment was reflected during the inauguration of the Thousand Islands DPC HIPPI Board in Jakarta on Monday (5/10). The inauguration was conducted by the Chairperson of the Jakarta Provincial HIPPI Regional Board (DPD), Uchy Hardiman, and witnessed by the Regent of Thousand Islands, Fadjar Churniawan.

In her statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, the Chairperson of the Thousand Islands DPC HIPPI, Melissa Hamid, stated that HIPPI serves not only as a forum for business actors but also as a space for collaboration to drive economic growth and community empowerment.

“We hope that HIPPI Thousand Islands can be a platform for entrepreneurs, especially young entrepreneurs, to work together to drive the economy of the Thousand Islands. We want to build a spirit of collaboration with the government and all stakeholders,” said Melissa.

Carrying the theme “Collaboration of Native Entrepreneurs, Driving the Thousand Islands Economy”, the new management led by Melissa aims to strengthen collaboration among business actors to stimulate the regional economy.

The event was also attended by members of the HIPPI Central Executive Board (DPP), the Jakarta Provincial HIPPI Board, and various stakeholders.

This potential, she continued, needs to be managed optimally through synergy between the government, the business world, and the community. Therefore, HIPPI Thousand Islands will encourage the capacity building of business actors, particularly the younger generation, through the strengthening of entrepreneurship, expansion of business networks, innovation, marketing, and the utilisation of technology.

“We want entrepreneurs in the Thousand Islands to grow together. A strong entrepreneur is not only one who is able to develop their own business, but also one who is able to create opportunities and open up employment,” said Melissa.

She stated that HIPPI is ready to be a strategic partner to the Thousand Islands Administrative Regency Government in empowering the community’s economy while optimising regional potential.

“This inauguration is the beginning of a responsibility. We want HIPPI to be a shared home for entrepreneurs to grow, collaborate, and provide benefits for the Thousand Islands,” she said.

Through the new management, she added, HIPPI Thousand Islands targets a stronger contribution from the business world, the emergence of young entrepreneurs, and the establishment of an inclusive and sustainable economic ecosystem in the region.

This commitment was warmly welcomed by the Regent of Thousand Islands, Fadjar Churniawan. Fadjar stated that the Thousand Islands Regency Government fully supports the presence of HIPPI and is ready to open spaces for collaboration to develop regional economic potential and empower business actors in the Thousand Islands.
