Diklatda V of the West Java HIPMI Branch Executive Board, held from 8 to 10 May 2026 at the Infantry Education Centre, served as a platform for shaping a new generation of young entrepreneurs who pursue not only business growth but are also equipped with leadership, integrity, and national insight.

The event, attended by HIPMI cadres from various regions in West Java, featured speakers from government, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and organisational leaders. Over three days, participants underwent rigorous training with high discipline, covering materials on leadership, business management, national defence, and organisational strengthening.

The Chairman of the West Java HIPMI Branch Executive Board, Radityo Egi Pratama, emphasised that young entrepreneurs cannot develop in isolation amid increasingly complex business competition and economic challenges. Therefore, collaboration is the key word that HIPMI West Java continues to promote through the spirit of “Maju Babarengan” (Advancing Together).

“Young entrepreneurs must not walk alone. We must strengthen each other and create a healthy collaborative ecosystem for collective progress,” said Egi at the opening of the event.

According to him, young entrepreneurs play a strategic role in driving regional economic growth. However, this role must be accompanied by the ability to build networks, strong leadership, and readiness to face rapid changes in the business world.

NATIONAL RESILIENCE ISSUE

Beyond business matters, the training also positioned national resilience as a crucial element in shaping the character of young entrepreneurs. The Commander of the Siliwangi Military Regional Command III, Kosasih, in his presentation, stressed that entrepreneurs are now part of the nation’s strategic strength.

Under the theme “Transformation of the Entrepreneur’s Role in the Universal Defence System”, he explained that national resilience no longer relies solely on military power but also on economic strength and the quality of human resources.

“National resilience today is not just about military defence, but also national economic strength and the quality of its human resources,” he asserted.

A similar view was expressed by the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Bima Arya, who highlighted the importance of sound business governance as the foundation for regional economic development.

In his briefing on Good Corporate Governance, Bima assessed that young entrepreneurs need to build a professional, transparent, and integrity-driven business culture to achieve sustainable economic growth.

“Regional economic growth will not be strong without good business governance. Integrity and professionalism are the primary foundations,” he stated.

ENTREPRENEURIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Meanwhile, the Commander of the Infantry Education Centre, Zaiful Rakhman, affirmed that national defence is not solely the duty of security apparatus. Young entrepreneurs also have the responsibility to maintain national stability through economic contributions and job creation.

According to him, current global challenges demand that the younger generation possess strong nationalism while having the adaptability to face changes in the global economy.

In addition to national and business briefings, participants also received materials on organisational strengthening and communication from the West Java HIPMI Candidate Selection Team. These materials emphasised the importance of cadre solidarity, effective communication, and a collaborative culture in building a progressive organisation.

One of the sessions that garnered the most attention from participants came from A. Zulfikar Priyatna through his material on strategic leadership and integrity.

In his presentation, Zulfikar reminded that power without morality will only lead to destruction. Therefore, future leaders must have the courage to make decisions while maintaining integrity amid pressures from the business world and organisations. “Power without morality will breed destruction. Integrity is the primary foundation of a leader,” he said.

POTENTIAL YOUNG CADRES

Diklatda V of HIPMI West Java also became a stage for emerging potential young cadres. One of them is Afif Fajar Nurtyanto, who successfully entered the ranks of the top 10 best participants.

This achievement is a pride for the Bekasi City HIPMI Branch Executive Board and demonstrates the emergence of young cadres who are considered active, progressive, and possess strong leadership capacity.

Through this event, HIPMI West Java reaffirmed its commitment to producing young entrepreneurs who excel not only in the business world but also possess leadership character, integrity, and national spirit as provisions for facing Indonesia’s future.
