HIPMI Southwest Papua Holds Meeting with Bank Mandiri to Discuss Business Capital, Investment and KUR
The Southwest Papua Regional Council of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) for the 2026-2029 term held a meeting with Bank Mandiri’s Sorong branch. The meeting followed up on discussions from the Regional Business Forum (FORBISDA) with Bank Mandiri Sorong representatives.
During the meeting, Karol R. Wojtyla Kamat, Chairman of the Finance, Banking, and Development Planning Department (Section II), received by Assistant Vice President Dimaz Prabowo, stated that this was a coordination of Section II’s programmes covering finance, banking, and development planning.
Additionally, HIPMI, as a young entrepreneurs’ organisation, acts as a facilitator for young entrepreneurs to access capital, investment, and People’s Business Credit (KUR) specifically for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Southwest Papua.
“Moving forward, HIPMI Southwest Papua will serve as a facilitator for young entrepreneurs to secure capital, investment, and KUR specifically for MSMEs,” Karol Kamat said on Sunday, 31 May 2026.
He added that HIPMI must register its members and their business types to obtain business loans from Bank Mandiri. He stated that HIPMI members would receive assistance in business capital and entrepreneurship development within the province.
“We will next register all HIPMI members interested in securing credit with Bank Mandiri; members should not hesitate as the bank recognises HIPMI’s contribution to economic advancement, particularly in Southwest Papua,” he said.
He also pledged that HIPMI Southwest Papua would oversee the acceleration of economic development in the region.
Southwest Papua, Karol Kamat noted, serves as the gateway to Papua’s economy, where all forms of investment and business opportunities are open.
“As the gateway to Papua, we must seize this opportunity to create investments and open up business prospects,” he said.
He also stressed that, in line with the commitment of HIPMI Southwest Papua’s Chairman Rob Rafael Kardinal, the organisation would not engage in projects funded by regional budgets (APBD) but instead attract investments from Danantara, Himbara banks, and the national budget (APBN).
“Following Chairman Rafael’s clear instructions, HIPMI cadres must not interfere with APBD but instead bring in investments and create business opportunities in Southwest Papua,” Karol R. Wojtyla Kamat said.
