Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP HIPMI), Ade Jona Prasetyo, has assessed that the investment realisation of Rp1,010.6 trillion in the first half of 2026 signals investor confidence in the national economy’s opportunities.

“This achievement is a positive signal of investor confidence and the prospects for the Indonesian economy,” said Ade Jona when confirmed in Jakarta on Saturday.

Indonesia’s investment realisation throughout the first half of 2026 reached Rp1,010.6 trillion, growing 7.2 percent year-on-year, and absorbed around 1.45 million Indonesian workers. Downstreaming investment was recorded at Rp300.1 trillion, or around 29.7 percent of total investment realisation.

Jona appreciated the government’s performance in maintaining investment momentum while promoting downstreaming and strengthening the national industry.

Nevertheless, according to him, the next stage is to ensure that investment generates increasingly greater domestic value added.

“Now we need to push this momentum to strengthen the national industry while opening up greater space for Indonesian entrepreneurs,” he said.

He emphasised that downstreaming must not stop at the construction of processing facilities, because new investment must be able to form an industrial ecosystem involving local entrepreneurs as suppliers, vendors, distributors, service providers, and strategic partners.

“When large investment enters and then gives rise to many supporting companies around it, that is where the multiplier effect occurs. Regional entrepreneurs should not merely watch investment arrive in their area, but must grow together with that investment,” he said.

According to him, the quality of investment also needs to be assessed by labour absorption, technology transfer, increased use of domestic products, and the ability to elevate national entrepreneurs to a higher level.

For this reason, HIPMI is pushing for strengthened access to financing for business actors, regulatory certainty, and broader partnerships between investors, large companies, MSMEs, and regional entrepreneurs.

For HIPMI, the success of industrialisation is ultimately measured by how much value added remains in Indonesia, how many national entrepreneurs grow alongside it, and how many jobs are created.

“HIPMI is ready to collaborate with the government to ensure that investment delivers an increasingly broad impact on the national economy,” said Ade Jona.
