HIPMI meets with military
JAKARTA (JP): City Military Commander Maj. Gen. Wiranto has asked the Jakarta branch of the Association of the Young Indonesian Entrepreneurs (HIPMI) to participate in a discipline campaign.
The commander was quoted by Andi Achmad Dara, chairman of the Jakarta HIPMI, as saying that maintaining business ethics and social responsibility are a kind of discipline.
Andi said after meeting with Wiranto yesterday that the association is looking for partnerships with other parties, including the military.
The meeting with Wiranto was aimed at building a partnership between HIPMI and the city military, Andi said.
"This is only the first meeting; further discussions are still needed," Andi said when asked what the concrete deal between HIPMI and the military would be like.
The association also plans to build partnerships with the city administration, city police, mayoralties and other parties, he added, without elaboration.
The Jakarta branch of HIPMI has more than 800 members.(29)
