HIPMI Leader Jona Calls for Unity to Drive Economic Growth

Ade Jona Prasetyo has been officially elected unanimously as Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) for the 2026-2029 term. Following his confirmation at the XVIII HIPMI National Conference in Lampung on Thursday (11/6), Jona stressed that the achievement was the result of collective effort across the organisation. “This is a shared victory. Because in HIPMI we are all friends, we are all brothers,” Jona said, as quoted from a written statement. Concluding the election process, Jona called on all HIPMI members to reunite and focus on strengthening the organisation. He believes the competitive spirit that drove the contest should become a foundation for building a stronger HIPMI, both centrally and regionally. “The contest is over. With the spirit of competing to stand together, I invite all HIPMI cadres to jointly advance HIPMI from the centre to the regions,” Jona urged. Amidst global economic challenges influenced by geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics, Jona assesses that young entrepreneurs must remain optimistic. He is convinced that HIPMI has the capacity to continue contributing as a driver of national economic growth. According to him, an entrepreneur’s success is not solely determined by favourable economic conditions, but also by the ability to survive and thrive under pressure. Therefore, he reminded all cadres not to fear the changes that lie ahead. “I invite us all not to be afraid of the future. Every challenge always brings opportunity. When the market changes, we must adapt. When competition increases, we must improve quality,” Jona stated. Jona affirmed that the mandate he received is not the end goal, but the beginning of a greater responsibility. Moving forward, he aims to make HIPMI a collaborative platform capable of competing globally, creating new jobs, delivering benefits to society, and supporting the national 8% economic growth target. “I believe that as long as we safeguard our integrity, work earnestly, and never stop striving, no economic storm will be able to halt our progress,” Jona urged. In addition to strengthening the organisation nationally, the former Chairman of the HIPMI North Sumatra Regional Board also committed to optimising HIPMI’s role in various regions. He noted that each region possesses distinct potential, from agriculture, plantations, and fisheries to tourism and the creative industries. He argued that such potential must become the primary focus of economic development to generate greater added value for regional economies. In line with this, he is determined to realise the programmes and vision he has crafted to bring HIPMI further forward. “This potential must become the main focus of economic development so it has high added value. I will also realise my vision and mission to make HIPMI more advanced,” the former chairman of HIPMI North Sumatra added. Jona added that region-based economic development plays a crucial role in creating equitable welfare and strengthening community self-sufficiency. He believes that regional progress will directly impact national competitiveness. “When the regions advance, the province will be strong. When the provinces are strong, Indonesia will be increasingly advanced and competitive. Thus, as HIPMI cadres, we will contribute to realising the 8% economic target,” he concluded.
