HIPMI Eyes Germany for Investment Collaboration and Technology Innovation
The Chairman of the Central Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP HIPMI), Ade Jona Prasetyo, considers Germany to still hold an important position as one of Indonesia’s strategic partners in the European region. The relationship encompasses various crucial sectors, ranging from investment, technology transfer, and modern manufacturing to vocational education and sustainability-oriented industrial development.
According to Ade Jona, the scope for expanding the partnership between the two countries remains wide open. These opportunities can be realised through more concrete cooperation in investment, technology transfer, strengthening value-added industries, developing new and renewable energy, and improving the quality of human resources.
“We see many opportunities to enhance more concrete cooperation, especially in investment, technology transfer, value-added industrial development, renewable energy, and human resource capacity building,” Ade Jona said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, 16 June 2026.
He assessed that the state visit of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to the State Palace in Jakarta serves as a strategic momentum to strengthen bilateral relations. The visit not only holds diplomatic value but also opens up broader economic collaboration opportunities between the Indonesian and German business communities.
In this context, HIPMI expressed its readiness to play a role as a liaison between national business actors and business partners from Germany. The organisation views cross-country synergy as one of the keys to strengthening Indonesia’s economic competitiveness amidst increasingly competitive global dynamics.
Ade Jona emphasised that young Indonesian entrepreneurs have high enthusiasm for building partnerships with international business players. This step is considered important to expand market access, increase business capacity, and simultaneously strengthen Indonesia’s position on the global trade map.
“The relationship between Indonesia and Germany has a very strong foundation. HIPMI is ready to be a strategic partner in bringing together business actors from both countries. We want to encourage more business collaboration, investment, technological innovation, and entrepreneurship development programmes that can benefit both Indonesia and Germany,” he said.
Furthermore, Ade Jona assessed that Germany’s experience in building high-tech manufacturing sectors and an integrated vocational education system can serve as a valuable reference for Indonesia. This experience is believed to be capable of supporting the strengthening of the national industrial ecosystem while improving the quality of the workforce needed by the business world.
He also hopes that the increasingly close relationship between Indonesia and Germany can open wider access for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as the young generation of Indonesian entrepreneurs to engage in the global supply chain and penetrate the European market.
According to him, solid economic collaboration will become a main pillar in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in the future. Therefore, HIPMI reaffirmed its commitment to continuously encourage the formation of strategic partnerships that can create added value for both parties.
“We believe that strong economic cooperation will be an important foundation in strengthening relations between the two countries. Young Indonesian entrepreneurs are ready to be part of the strategic Indonesia-Germany partnership in the future,” Ade concluded.
