HIPMI Depok Focuses on Expanding Business Access for MSMEs
The Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) of Depok City has placed MSME development as one of the key focuses for its 2026-2029 management period. This effort will be carried out through collaboration with the local government, the business world, and various stakeholders to expand market access and business development.
This commitment was announced during the Inauguration and Confirmation of the BPC HIPMI Depok City Board for the 2026-2029 period on Saturday (19/09/2026). During the event, Ardian Fajar Prastyawan was confirmed as the General Chairperson of BPC HIPMI Depok City.
Ardian stated that HIPMI Depok City serves as a platform for young entrepreneurs from various business and industrial backgrounds, acting simultaneously as a partner to the Depok City Government. According to him, collaboration between the government and entrepreneurs is essential to building a stronger economic ecosystem.
“The government plays a role in formulating strategies, regulations, and providing a business ecosystem. Meanwhile, entrepreneurs play a role in seizing opportunities, innovating, and executing economic activities,” said Ardlam on Saturday (19/09/2026).
He noted that collaboration requires trust and an understanding of each party’s respective roles. His experience within HIPMI was one of the reasons he sought to lead the organisation.
Ardian revealed that the HIPMI network has helped him develop his business through access to communities, investors, and the government. This experience motivated him to contribute more significantly through leadership in HIPMI Depok City. “This experience is one of the reasons why I want to lead HIPMI Depok City as a form of contribution and gratitude,” he said.
Ardian explained that MSME development is a priority for HIPMI Depok City over the next three years. HIPMI will serve as a space for learning and education for aspiring entrepreneurs and MSME players.
According to him, HIPMI members who have successfully grown their businesses are expected not only to focus on their own growth but also to share their experiences and open business access for other MSME actors.
“HIPMI wants to connect MSMEs with the business networks owned by its members,” said Ardian.
This collaboration, according to Ardian, can be achieved by connecting MSMEs with the printing industry to support product packaging or by providing access to restaurant networks. Through this pattern, MSME players can obtain mentoring, market access, education, and business development support.
Ardian emphasised that HIPMI Depok City must produce tangible work and provide a real impact on society. Therefore, the management and members must not only run the organisation administratively.
“The resulting work programmes must be high quality, capable of producing tangible results, and provide a real impact on the wider community,” he said.
He also invited communities, associations, and organisations in Depok City to build cross-sector collaboration. He believes such cooperation is necessary to build a young entrepreneur ecosystem in Depok City.
Ardian hopes that the 2026-2029 management period will be cohesive and solid, both internally and in building external partnerships. He also targets HIPMI to contribute to producing more young entrepreneurs in Depok City.
“The ultimate vision is to make Depok a city that produces a number of young entrepreneurs capable of contributing to the economy,” he said.
The General Chairperson of BPD HIPMI West Java, Radityo Egi Pratama, reminded the HIPMI ranks in West Java, including Depok City, to prioritise tangible contributions and works.
He stated that HIPMI must be a space for young entrepreneurs to grow, build networks, and mature as business actors.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Depok, Supian Suri, expressed hope that HIPMI would assist the government in creating a conducive business ecosystem and supporting MSME development.
He stated that the Depok City Government, together with HIPting and stakeholders, needs to prepare conditions that support investment and business growth in Depok City.
“HIPMI can serve as that bridge. We, the Depok City Government, have high hopes that the presence of HIPMI can be a strong support to advance the economy of the Depok City community, help MSMEs scale up, and encourage and support the development of micro-businesses into large enterprises,” said Supian.
According to Supian, economic strengthening through the business world is also expected to help address several social issues faced by the Depok community, such as school dropouts and the need for residential housing improvements.
