HIPMI Calls for Comprehensive Evaluation of Fuel Distribution System

The Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) has stated that the fuel distribution system needs to be evaluated comprehensively. HIPMI Secretary General Anthony Leong said that a long-term solution cannot rely solely on adding tanker trucks. He called for a thorough evaluation of the supply chain and distribution system, including logistics infrastructure readiness, stock management, and real-time supply monitoring to ensure more effective distribution.

Anthony also emphasised the importance of synergy between Pertamina, regional governments, and the authorities to maintain smooth energy distribution, especially during demand surges. He noted that good coordination would accelerate decision-making and minimise potential public panic caused by inaccurate information. Ultimately, he said, the synergy of all parties is key to maintaining energy supply stability and supporting the sustainability of regional economic activities.

HIPMI also expressed appreciation for the unannounced inspection conducted by Commission XII of the House of Representatives (DPR) member Ade Jona Prasetyo regarding the fuel queues and shortages in North Sumatra. Anthony assessed that the move demonstrated the DPR’s oversight function was working well to ensure energy distribution to the public is maintained. He added that coordination between the DPR, Pertamina, regional governments, and the authorities would accelerate problem-solving on the ground and serve as material for evaluating the strengthening of the fuel distribution system in the future.
