HIPMI 2026 National Congress: Four Candidates Debate Ideas to Face Economic Challenges
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Four candidates for the Chair of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP HIPMI) have officially received their sequence numbers ahead of the 18th National Congress (Munas), scheduled for 10 June 2026. The draw results assigned Reynaldo Bryan as number 1, Ade Jona as number 2, Afi Kalla as number 3, and Anthony Leong as number 4. The determination of sequence numbers marks the start of the campaign phase. The candidates will present their visions, missions, and strategies in promoting the role of young entrepreneurs amid economic challenges. “The spirit is not just about winning, but about how to collectively strengthen HIPMI,” said Tri in an official statement on Sunday (26/4/2026). The 18th Munas is expected to produce leaders capable of addressing challenges, from business digitalisation and market access expansion to strengthening young entrepreneur networks at the global level. The Chair of the 18th Munas Organising Committee, Arief Satria Kurniagung, stated that the campaign period will last about one and a half months, with agendas including public lectures in eight provinces and three candidate debates. “Of course, this presents a particular challenge for each candidate to tour 38 provinces in a relatively short time,” he added. Meanwhile, the Chair of BPP HIPMI, Akbar Himawan Buchari, assessed that the new HIPMI leadership will play an important role in strengthening national economic resilience, especially amid global uncertainties. “The four candidates for chair are the best HIPMI cadres at present. In facing future challenges amid geopolitical uncertainties, synergy among all national entrepreneurs is needed to build economic resilience,” said Akbar. The candidates are next scheduled to enter the vision-mission presentation phase as part of the campaign stages. The 18th Munas of BPP HIPMI is expected to strengthen the role of young entrepreneurs in supporting national economic growth.
