Hino Launches 4x4 Bus at GIICOMVEC 2026, Ready to Tackle Heavy and Extreme Terrain
Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI) has introduced a four-wheel-drive bus as part of strengthening its commercial vehicle lineup at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Commercial Vehicle Expo (GIICOMVEC) 2026. This model is designed to meet operational needs in heavy terrains, such as plantation and mining areas.
The 4x4 configuration bus has been developed to support worker mobility from residential areas to work sites that often feature extreme road conditions. The four-wheel-drive system allows simultaneous power distribution to the front and rear wheels, thereby improving traction when traversing steep, muddy, or rocky terrain.
“Hino understands that every industrial sector has different operational needs. Through the introduction of the latest Hino Bus 136MDBL 4x4 unit, we aim to provide safe and reliable transportation solutions for plantation or mining companies in supporting worker mobility in operational areas with heavy terrain,” said HMSI Vice President Director Alex Sutisna.
This vehicle is also equipped with high ground clearance to support its ability to navigate various field conditions. This aspect is considered important for maintaining passenger comfort and safety, especially in high-intensity operations.
From the powertrain perspective, the bus uses a Euro 4 emission-standard engine and has been produced locally. The unit has also obtained a Type Approval Certificate (SUT), allowing it to be used in both off-road areas and public roads.
In addition to introducing the new product, Hino also showcased several other commercial vehicles from various segments. In the medium-duty truck category, the Hino 500 Series model is featured, which is widely used for heavy haulage and logistics needs.
