Hindu Students Honour Ari Dwipayana as Inspirational Figure

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Hindu Dharma Student Union (KMHDI) has awarded Ari Dwipayana, Chairman of the Puri Kauhan Ubud Foundation, the KMHDI Inspirational Hindu Figure Award 2026.

The KMHDI Award 2026 was presented by MPR RI Chairman Ahmad Muzani to Ari Dwipayana for his dedication, contributions, and service in safeguarding, developing, and inspiring the progress of the Hindu community and the development of the Indonesian nation.

“It is hoped that with this KMHDI Award, more inspirational figures in various fields, especially public policy that has a broad impact on Indonesian society, will emerge,” said KMHDI General Chairman Wayan Darmawan in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.

Anak Agung Gde Ngurah Ari Dwipayana, or Ari Dwipayana, served as Special Staff to President Joko Widodo from 2014 to 2019 and coordinator of the President’s Special Staff from 2019 to 2024.

In his role, Ari Dwipayana is recognised for building synergy with KMHDI to advance the Hindu community and encourage young people to contribute to national development.

Additionally, through the Puri Kauhan Ubud Foundation, Ari Dwipayana continues to work on exploring, preserving, and developing the noble values of Balinese culture for the advancement of Nusantara civilisation amid globalisation.

Meanwhile, Ari Dwipayana, or Gung Ari, expressed his gratitude for the award. He emphasised that the recognition is not solely for himself but for all parties committed to strengthening the role of the Hindu community in national development.

“This award serves as a reminder and motivation to continue contributing and creating works for the advancement of Hinduism and Indonesia,” he stated.

The KMHDI Award 2026 ceremony was held at Lampung University, running from 27 March to 5 April 2026, attended by the Lampung Regional Leadership Coordination Forum.

The KMHDI Award Forum also serves as the organisation’s highest deliberative body, providing a space for reflection and strengthening the role of the young Hindu generation in addressing challenges.

Similar awards were also given to other figures as a meaningful form of appreciation and motivation to continue creating, serving, and becoming role models for the younger generation in realising an excellent Hinduism in an Advanced Indonesia.
