Hilton hosts course on Islam

JAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta Hilton International Hotel will hold a three-day course on Islam (Pesantren Kilat) starting on Friday.

Held during the fasting month of Ramadhan, the course will feature as speakers several noted Muslim figures, including preacher Zainuddin MZ., scholars Yusril Ihza Mahendra and Komarudin Hidayat, the hotel's public relations officer Nike said.

"The program, the first we ever hold, is aimed at improving knowledge on Islam during the holy month," Nike said.

Each participant is required to pay Rp 380,000++ (US$50.6).

The course package is inclusive of two nights' accommodation, breaking-of-the-fast meals and sahur dawn meals, she said.

The course will be divided into classes for teenagers and adults, she said. "So far, 25 participants have registered." (jun)
